A family of secret societies formed in late medieval Germany, which taught esoteric practices that were concealed from the average person. The meetings of these societies were held in private and thus Rosicrucians became known as the “College of Invisibles.”

Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi (2 August 1834 – 4 October 1904) was a French sculptor and painter. He is best known for designing Liberty Enlightening the World, commonly known as the Statue of Liberty. In 1875, he joined the Freemasons Lodge Alsace-Lorraine in Paris.
