So I walk up on high
And I step to the edge
To see my world below

Light is not only a physical element, it is also a mental and spiritual element and in the temple the disciple is told to revere the invisible sun even more than the visible one; for every visible thing is only an effect of the invisible or causal, and as God is the Cause of All Causes He dwells in the invisible World of Causation.

There has to be an invisible sun,
that gives us hope when the whole day’s done

What this secret tradition reveals is that the one whom most Christians naïvely worship as creator, God, and Father is, in reality, only the image of the true God. According to Valentinus, what Clement and Ignatius mistakenly ascribe to God actually applies only to the creator. Valentinus, following Plato, uses the Greek term for “creator” (demiurgos), suggesting that he is a lesser divine being who serves as the instrument of the higher powers. It is not God, he explains, but the demiurge who reigns as king and lord, who acts as a military commander, who gives the law and judges those who violate it—in short, he is the “God of Israel.”

There’s a world that was meant
for our eyes to see

See the lights of a neighbor’s house
Now she’s starting to rise
Take a minute to concentrate
And she opens up her eyes

‘Cause I wanna get high –
But you’re keeping me low

The world was moving
she was right there with it and she was
The world was moving
she was floating above it and she was
And she was

From the top of the world
every which way is down

Life is all around
Why you lookin’ down?
Life is all around
So look up, look up

Moving into the universe and she’s
Drifting this way and that
Not touching the ground at all and she’s Up above the yard

I am the eye in the sky,
looking at you –
I can read your mind

We’ve got to act fast.
Step one, we reverse the vacuum
and blow the air back onto the planet.

She had a pleasant elevation
She’s moving out in all directions
oh, oh oh
The foundational line of true ethical behavior, its main guiding principle valid across all times and cultures, is the degree of freedom from self-centeredness of thought and behavior, and willingness freely to give up one’s own self-interest on behalf of others.

Don’t surround yourself with yourself

Egocentric attitudes may have been a contributory factor behind the dominance of the geocentric world-view, but there were other reasons for preferring an Earth-centred universe to Aristarchus’ Sun-centred universe.
One basic problem with the Sun-centred world-view was that it appeared to be simply ridiculous. It just seemed so utterly obvious that the Sun revolved round a static Earth, and not the other way round.
In short, a Sun-centred universe ran counter to common sense.

Love myself better than you –
I know it’s wrong,
So what should I do?
What sets the mental-rational structure apart from the previous three structures is that it is the most separated from “Origin.” In it, human consciousness, which had previously felt a fundamental connection to the world around it, was now unattached and “free.” The subject/object divide became firm. Consciousness and the world were clearly experienced as different, radically opposed realities. In the mental-rational structure, for the first time man learned how to think about the world as something separate from himself, and this also meant the growing dominance of the ego, the verbal “I” which, we’ve seen, inhabits the left brain.

I’m on a plain –
I can’t complain
I couldn’t see past my ego

Tried to say no,
but I couldn’t see past my ego

Pressure, pushing down on me,
pressing down on you, no man ask for

I’m sure you have some
cosmic rationale

Everybody,
tell me have you heard?
Pop goes the world

I heard it, somebody lied
And I’m staring out the window
Gonna let this thing continue
In its natural time
Round heads, square heads
Get settled in
